5 easy and cheap masks recipes to save your oily, dry, acne scars, dull and aging skin! These skin glowing recipes can easily be made with common ingredients found right in you kitchen!
Oh Skin! How I love you…. but also hate you at times. I have always believed that we should treat people like we treat our skin; the more it’s being bad, the better we should treat it. Usually when asked, people can easily answer on what skin type they have but me? NOPE! From desert dry to EXTREMELY oily and everything in between, you name it, I’ve had that skin type at one point or another. So after 21 years of struggle with my skin, I have learned a few tricks to save my skin. Being a person who likes to use good ingredients inside and out, over the years I have developed a few recipes that really do we work!
Not only are these recipes extremely easy and cheap to make but also good for your skin! Let’s get Started!
Let’s start with the one I use the most. This mask has cured dry flaky skin and given me skin smoother than a baby’s bum! Here’s the simple recipe:
- 1/2 a banana.
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt (organic preferably),
- 2 table spoon raw honey
Directions: Mash the banana, honey and yogurt into so smooth paste and Apply to neck and face. Let sit for about 10-20 minutes and rinse off with cold water. TA-DA you’re relieved with smooth skin. Don’t forget to moisturize afterwords to seal in the moisture. Apply 3-4 times a week.
Need to Blot your face every hour? No worries! Try this recipe. This will help your oil skin feel hydrated and balanced. Here’s what you’ll need;
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp honey
- 3 table spoon ground oats
Directions- Whisk the egg whites then add honey and ground oats. Mix until a paste forms. Apply to face and neck and leave for 10-20 minutes then wash with warm water. Follow up with daily skin care routine. Use this mask up to 4-5 times a week.
Sick of having to cover up blemishes on your skin? Use this mask to get rid of any of those stubborn acne scars or dark spots. You’ll need;
- 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 teaspoons green tea
- 5 tablespoons sugar
Directions- Mix the AVC and green tea, let sit for 5 minutes and then add sugar. The mixture should be of a thick paste consistency. Apply to face and leave on for about 15 -20 minutes. Exfoliate a little with the sugar and rinse off with warm water. Follow up with regular skin care routine. Use this mask no more than 1-2 times a week.
Dull Skin tone
Sometimes your skin just needs that extra push when maybe you’ve been skipping out on sleep and not drinking enough water. This recipe will make you skin glow from within. It is also a wonderful mask for brighting. Here is the recipe:
- 2 teaspoon pumpking puree
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon milk
Directions: Mix all three ingredients into a paste and apply to clean face. Let dry for 15-20 minutes and rinse with warm water. Use up to 3 times a week.
Ah! Aging skin. Happens to everyone… eventually and it’s okay. HOWEVER, if we can prevent it then why not? Specially when all you will need is 1 ingredient!
- 1 egg
Directions: Whisk the egg well and apply to face and neck. Once it dries, wash with warm water. You can use this mask 3- 4 times a week for toned skin and tighter pores.
Try these out if you’re facing any one of these problems! My general rule for what I put in my DIY face masks is anything that I would eat. Make sure to wash your face throughly before and after apply these masks and do a patch test to make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients.
