There are millions of pimple remedies online, some confusing, some harmful and others just down right weird. It really gets super confusing and after doing research I am scared to try new things on my face!Check out my post on DIY masks to NEVER try!) Being a person who had a lot of acne due to allergies, I have had a lot of experience dealing with pimples.
Over the years from the desperation of longing for clear skin, I have tried everything under the books from toothpaste (spoiler alert from “DIY masks to never try”, Toothpaste: NOT A GOOD IDEA!) to acne treatments that dried out and irritated my skin. Then one day, I was watching a TV show (My So Called Life) and Angela, the main character’s mom suggest that to get rid of a pimple, she should take a cotton swab and run it under hot water and then the scene cut off. I mostly got the gist of the remedy so it got me thinking, will that really work?
I had to give it a try, so one night I sat down and decided to try it but I improvised a little and added a couple of my own steps… when I woke up the next day, it worked!!! I was amazed, not remedy had worked this fast for me, my pimple was dried up and has reduced a SIGNIFICANT amount. From then onwards, I have been using this simple and easy trick for years and it works even on the most nastiest, most painful pimples too!
So next time you get a pimple, do this!
Take a cotton pad/ ball and run it under hot water (hot tap water is fine). The hotter the better but please make sure to test if you can bare the heat.
Gently press the cotton pad over the pimple for 15-20 seconds or until the cotton pad is cooled. The heat will help the pus come up towards the surface.
Next morning just wipe off the lotion or clay mask with a wash cloth and TA-DA your pimple will show huge improvements. Most of the time this the pimple is gone the first time but if it’s one of those stubborn pimples just keep doing this till it’s completely dried out and don’t forget to put a good moisturize on the pimple after washing off the drying lotion or mask!
